I overheard two guys at the bar talking about their brand new iphones - one was a chill-looking bald guy, the other had Dahmer glasses and a pedo vibe. They didn’t seem like they should be friends. They didn’t talk to anyone else, just each other. Bald guy talked about the new “liquid glass” like he wanted the whole bar to hear. The other mumbled about something he liked. Then they both went back to their phones. Not saying another word.
Later that night, we go out to this new bar downtown, Mother. They had a DJ smack in the middle. The owner wore a trucker hat and a denim vest with some nondescript Air-forces. A man was poorly attempting to flirt with someone in the bathroom line. I thought about how plausible it would be to steal the tip jar and get away with it. Thirty people jammed into a sad excuse of a bar patio. Does anyone really want to be here?
I couldn’t help thinking about the iphone friends. Going to the new bar to be seen, dancing next to the DJ. The want to be seen with the new iphone while they are out at new bar. Proving to themselves they have community.
People have become so empty that even their wants are insincere.
People are losing their own sense of self. I get sick thinking of all the people pretending to have fun. I know better. I know they are miserable.
Because I’m certainly not.
I shoulda stayed home and gamed with Franchan but then I never would have written this.

Idk I made some pretty basic soup and it tastes pretty good idk if it feels as good as a new iphone probably not but who’s to say.

Eyeball everything
make sure to make a lot so you have lots of soup to eat throughout the week.

I ain’t got much I been working on the mag I wanna say it’s coming together but that’s what I always say. Anyway writing for this and for that I’m getting sick of my thoughts I be having too much to say and not knowing how to say it.
Even with this I know there’s a bigger connection with going out and getting new iphones but unfortunately I can’t make that connection but as long as I know and you know that’s all that matters.
