A recollection of the incident that occurred on February 20th, 2025.

Dawson invited me and Gloria to have Tom Kha soup with Hannah and him. I thought how sweet of him that he wanted to spend time with the both of us. Being on this pseudo double date felt weird, maybe it was the public nature of it, or the underlying pressure to act a certain way. I can’t really pinpoint why it felt weird but it’s just one of those things you either get or you don’t. To make matters worse Dawsons place was hot as hell. Mix my social awkwardness with being hot as fuck, and I’m turning into a bundle of nerves. Nervous sweats are getting 2 me. Sweat coming down my neck, running to the bathroom to freshen up every 5 minutes. My face is red flush my hair, getting frizzier by the minute. I’m cooking in my shirt and my pants feel 2 hot. I was wearing my white Gorillaz shirt. Which is funny cause that so happens to be what I’m wearing as I type this. ( It was a gift from my brother in Christmas '18)

Hannah made us this fricking strong drink that had me floored in 2 sips. The nice thing was it didn’t taste strong at all, a very nice easy sip. it was a bunch of liquors mixed together. I can’t remember the name of the drink nor the spirits in it, but it was red. It tasted like grapefruits. She served them to us in these lovely skinny stemmed glasses called Nick & Nora. I instantly thought of "Nick and Noras Infinite Playlist” the 2008 movie w Micheal Cera and Kat Dennings. Turns out they were named after the movie “Nick & Nora”, which is a 1934 mystery series, not "Nick and Noras Infinite Playlist”. Weird how you can make little connections from complimenting a nice set of cocktail glasses.

I was properly sauced off of one cocktail. So the second one was making me borderline lit, and all that liquor was making me hotter which made me more uncomfortable. Hannah kept us entertained while Dawson slaved away in the Kitchen cooking the soup. I didn’t dare go in there as it was even hotter over the pots and pans. I can’t remember what we talked about. I do remember shooting glances at Gloria, while folk music played in the background. The folk music was fine while I was sipping on my lil cocktail but for the rest of the evening it would soon become incessant strumming tormenting my mind.

Soup is ready, we all get seated and it felt very formal business dinner vibes. I think the table is partially to blame. Just a tad too big, it felt executive and uninviting -maybe I’m just being mean. The table was fine. I liked that it felt a bit formal, it added to the uneasiness of the evening. The food was light and delightful, my favorite type of dish. Dawson gave Gloria an extremely spicy pepper that she ate in one bite. Which I later found out was extremely hot. Me n Hannah got seconds. I was still sweating a lil from the heat, liquor, soup, and the whiff of formality.

I mean cmon so scrum

With our bowls empty and our bellies full, the night takes a turn…
